This week Mike and Daf discuss annoying features on cars, Adam Levine's recent facelift and a memorable exchange between Mike and well known actor, Brad Pitt.

SPEAKER_00

Hi everyone, welcome back to the Conrelations Podcast. I'm Daff, and this is Mike. Thank you for tuning in today. Has anything been going on in the last couple of weeks since we've talked?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I uh found a new restaurant I like.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Where is that or what kind of food?

SPEAKER_01

It's the next city over. It's like a knockoff of El Pollo Loco, and it's like way better. Chicken.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, gee. Maybe I know of it because I found that restaurant. Are you crazy? You're trying to take you're trying to take my credit? I found that restaurant. I'm not taking credit of that. I was sitting here thinking. I was gonna ask you, like, oh, what restaurant is that? And I'm like, oh wait.

SPEAKER_01

I tried it.

SPEAKER_00

I know that restaurant.

SPEAKER_01

I tried it without you.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh. It was because I recommended it.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Well, that was exciting.

SPEAKER_00

You're welcome.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Um, that my chickens have been producing like 10 eggs a day. They're producing like crazy, uh, which is great. It's perfect weather, it's not too hot or cold anymore, like the sun is out and they're comfortable, which is perfect because we have harsh summers. Um, so I'm enjoying seeing them be comfortable for the time being.

SPEAKER_01

Nice.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know what this is?

SPEAKER_01

I think I do.

SPEAKER_00

I don't want it to be too close to my tea. I haven't used it a lot since I've got it. This was a new one. But an electric fly spatter will change your life. I think every household should have one. It makes swatting flies fun. Some people would allege that I overuse the term fun. Would you agree?

SPEAKER_01

That it's overused or that it's fun.

SPEAKER_00

Personally, I overuse the term fun.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you. I think everything has the opportunity to be fun. So if somebody is alleging that I'm overusing the term, I think they're turned off to fun a little bit in some degree.

SPEAKER_01

Where they don't know you well.

SPEAKER_00

Electric fly swatter, fun, very fun. And for people who live a little bit rural, like me, it comes in handy. I had one last year, and due to me violently using it all the time, the inside battery part that held the batteries got like all shooken up. So after a while I could tape the batteries and it worked, but then after a while it didn't work anymore at all, so I had to throw it away. So this year I spent a little bit more on a nicer model. I've only used it once or twice, but yeah, it works. Uh let's see if I can turn it on.

SPEAKER_01

They actually work really well.

SPEAKER_00

In our last pod, you mentioned that you are in the market for a new car, particularly Bronco model. Not to make it all about me, but my car, who I love, I named her Heather. She's a great car, but I've had it for like seven years now. Something that I realized I really didn't like about my car when I first purchased it was if I open my driver door, the engine is turning off. Regardless of if I'm in park, in neutral, in drive, the entire car, the entire engine shuts off. Like still in drive.

SPEAKER_01

As soon as you open your door.

SPEAKER_00

As soon as I open my driver's side door. Very annoying. There is, I would say, 5% of the time where it decides not to turn off. It'll usually do the 5% not turn off if I just turned it on. So I just turned it on, I'm sitting in there 12 seconds, for forgot my phone in the house. Open the door. Sometimes it won't turn off. But there's no there's no way for me to control it. I've looked it up and I've talked to the dealership. My particular model, there's no way to turn that off. No. But they market it as a safety feature. For me, it's a pain in the butt. I hate it. So with that being said, there are some really annoying features on vehicles, particular makes or models. Is there any particular feature like what I explained to you with my car that you are making sure you go out of your way to avoid on this purchase?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, definitely. Uh the one I have in mind that I'm not looking for in a new car was the auto shutdown or shut off at a stoplight.

SPEAKER_00

Auto start, I think is what they call it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's the shutting down part that annoys me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't like that. Thankfully, my car doesn't have that. It's very annoying. I've noticed on newer models they have the option to turn it on or off. Would you be open to buying the car if they had the on or off option?

SPEAKER_01

If they engineered it in there, I don't like that engineer. So uh yeah, uh what other features have they thrown in my new car that I'm not gonna like if they have that?

SPEAKER_00

When I bought this car, it was a much longer car purchasing journey than I was expecting. I had a really good cash down payment. So I thought it was gonna be one or two weeks. I'm gonna find it and find whatever I want and found a really good deal. It took me like three or four months, multiple people trying to scam me with a six percent rate, which is not what I ended up getting. So buying a car is just kind of funny. I didn't realize in that moment that I should have a list of things that I want to avoid. At the end of the day, I'm happy with what I got. Maybe have your list ready.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I like your car too. I have a list.

SPEAKER_00

Awesome. Also, in our last pod, I talked about self-hype.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I self-hyped today. Did you?

SPEAKER_01

No, I don't I don't do that.

SPEAKER_00

You told me that you would try it out or dip your toe.

SPEAKER_01

Did I? I don't remember trying it out.

SPEAKER_00

Regardless, today two of my hype songs were Club Can't Handle Me by Flow Ryda. Number two, Animals by Maroon Five. Are you familiar with that band or artist Flow Ryda?

SPEAKER_01

Neither of them know.

SPEAKER_00

Flow Ryda from Florida. Flow Ryda, so it's Florida. Just two separate words.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I get it.

SPEAKER_00

From Florida. He doesn't make music anymore. And he was making smash hits when I was a younger preteen and teen. And he just out of nowhere isn't making music anymore.

SPEAKER_01

What kind of music does he do?

SPEAKER_00

Very fun pop and rap.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_00

Like that song Right Round, you spin my head, right round, right round, when you go down, when you go down, down. You know that one?

SPEAKER_01

I know another song titled Right Round by an 80s band. The words are almost the same.

SPEAKER_00

I'll show you his music later. That does sound like it's potentially a sample. Songs that you would hear in the club back in the day that you could dance to. Very fun.

SPEAKER_01

Very motivating.

SPEAKER_00

Mix of pop and rap, yeah. Something to self-hype yourself to. Maroon Five, I can't believe you've never heard of them. They've been crazy, crazy popular since like 1999.

SPEAKER_01

99, yeah. I was out of the country then.

SPEAKER_00

Maroon Five is a group of five guys, I believe. Lead singer is named Adam Levine. A couple years ago, he canceled himself a little bit because he cheated on his pregnant wife, who is literally a Victoria's secret model. So I did not hear about this. Next level beautiful. And it wasn't even their first child together. I think she was pushing out baby number two or three. Really? So cheated on his pregnant wife. Allegedly, it was just like an online flirtatious back and forth exchange with this woman who is an influencer or whatever. Still pretty messed up that you're gonna do that when your wife is pregnant. Adam Levine recently got some plastic surgery down on his face. Tell me if you think this is good work or if this is some botched work.

SPEAKER_01

Um Yeah, it's looks like two different guys. Well, the suit kind of throws things off. Uh I'd say not botched. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

You think he's You think that's good work?

SPEAKER_01

I think he looks more manly on the on the old picture.

SPEAKER_00

They pulled him too tight.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so he looks younger. Is is it that the point of of plastic surgery?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe it'll settle and after a few years it'll look a little less jarring.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But that's just like not the Adam Levine I'm used to looking at. No.

SPEAKER_01

He looks until he looks like a model in the uh the new photo.

SPEAKER_00

It's just always interesting to me when men decide to get plastic surgery.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Not weird or bad or yeah, that's how I think it is. It's just interesting. You think it's weird or bad?

SPEAKER_01

It's very vain.

SPEAKER_00

Just wanted you to rate Adam Levine. Again, the self-hype topic that we talked about last episode. The word that you use to describe self-hype was unmanly. I'm going to give you a rapid-fire list of activities or tasks that a person might need to come across and do in a daily life or throughout their life once or twice. I want you to give me on a scale from one to ten. If it's manly, that would be a ten.

SPEAKER_01

Ten.

SPEAKER_00

And if it's unmanly, it's a one.

SPEAKER_01

Got it. I'm ready.

SPEAKER_00

Gardening.

SPEAKER_01

Eight. Manly.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, gardening is manly. Alright, okay. I kind of wasn't expecting that from you. Animal care or veterinary services.

SPEAKER_01

Eight again.

SPEAKER_00

Washing a car.

SPEAKER_01

Eight. Maybe nine.

SPEAKER_00

Volunteering at an animal shelter.

SPEAKER_01

Three.

SPEAKER_00

Shopping, grocery or clothing.

SPEAKER_01

One.

SPEAKER_00

Reading a map.

SPEAKER_01

Nine.

SPEAKER_00

Fixing a pothole yourself.

SPEAKER_01

Ten.

SPEAKER_00

Changing a tire.

SPEAKER_01

Ten.

SPEAKER_00

Applying lotion to your full body immediately after showering.

SPEAKER_01

Two.

SPEAKER_00

Using sunscreen or UV protection methods like a visor, sunglasses, etc.

SPEAKER_01

Sunglasses are not unmanly, but overall, what you said, three or four.

SPEAKER_00

Sunscreen?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Is a three or four?

SPEAKER_01

Worrying about the sun? Tanning your face? Yeah, that's not very manly.

SPEAKER_00

Got it. Pulling over on the side of the road to assist an abandoned or injured animal that needs help.

SPEAKER_01

Ten.

SPEAKER_00

Using a firearm.

SPEAKER_01

Ten.

SPEAKER_00

Doing laundry at home.

SPEAKER_01

Three.

SPEAKER_00

Part two to this question. Doing laundry at a laundromat after your facilities at home are unavailable. So your washer conks out, dryer conks out. Your household needs laundry done. Are you going to laundromat? How manly is that?

SPEAKER_01

One.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, your family needs you to Hot Breakdown in the first place.

SPEAKER_01

Who wasn't watching that? A real man's equipment always works. Uh sounded nasty.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, you can't get you can't get the washer or dryer fixed. You opened her up, threw her up on the lift. It's not fixable.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, not manly.

SPEAKER_00

Your household needs laundry done.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. You're not gonna do the manly thing and provide for the household stepping up and getting the job done is is very manly. However, it shouldn't have to come to that. Stepping up like a man, doing the laundry, getting it done. Nine, definitely manly.

SPEAKER_00

At the laundromat.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But I'm gonna wear sunglasses and a hat, and I'm I'm not talking to anybody at the laundromat.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, um, I've been to the laundromat around here. There's one that's really bad, but there's one that opened up, I don't know, it must have been under a year ago, and they're killing it. Not that I need a laundromat all the time, but oh my gosh, this one is worlds better than the bad one that I struggled at.

SPEAKER_01

What's so good about it?

SPEAKER_00

They're very clean and the demographic around there, and I had a homeless man in the parking lot of the laundromat say that he was going to kill himself a honeypot, and he was looking at me, I'm gonna kill myself a honeypot. And he's like wheeling his cart away. I literally grabbed my mace and I was like, okay, I have to wait for the dry right now, but I'm ready to throw down with this bitch. If he's waiting at my car when I come back, I'm throwing down.

SPEAKER_01

What does that mean?

SPEAKER_00

Honeypot is like the uh pretty police who like lures a criminal into doing something.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Or or just a regular girl trying to set up a guy for something.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, is that what it is? Okay. I don't know why I thought it was. Like blackmail distortion. Regardless, I won't forget that experience. Yeah. And uh rubbed me the wrong way. Cleaning pools.

SPEAKER_01

Eight or nine, manly.

SPEAKER_00

Scooping a cat's litter box.

SPEAKER_01

Three.

SPEAKER_00

Helping a chicken down from the top perch of their coop after their legs have gotten crampy from perching all night.

SPEAKER_01

Animal care. Manly, nine.

SPEAKER_00

You have to get in the coop though.

SPEAKER_01

With all the chicken shit? Yeah. Definitely nine. Got it.

SPEAKER_00

Hugging or kissing your beloved pet like a cat, dog, or chicken.

SPEAKER_01

Three or four.

SPEAKER_00

Changing a baby diaper with number two.

SPEAKER_01

Three.

SPEAKER_00

Pumping gas.

SPEAKER_01

Nine.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, that's it for our our rapid fire.

SPEAKER_01

What was the one that surprised you, Duane? Gardening. Oh, why?

SPEAKER_00

I didn't think that you would find that manly.

SPEAKER_01

Why not?

SPEAKER_00

Because you don't have to be a strong man to garden. I don't know. You have to be a strong man to change. I guess there's strong women, there's strong capable people. I would never attempt to change my own tire. Um, that I think is a manly task. You know what? Not to put myself on blast here, but even putting air into a tire is a truly challenging task for me. I've tried several dozen times. The one or two times I've happened to have a friend like assist me, they end up laughing at me because apparently I don't know what I'm doing. And I'm like, okay, instruct me. What do they do? Take the thing from me, and they do exactly what I was just doing. But apparently now they're doing something to where the air is actually going in. I've never successfully gotten air in my tire. I've done dozens of different gas station spots. I attempted for the first time in several years recently, and they've changed. They don't have like a pressure thing, it's all on a screen. How am I supposed to see the screen that's telling me the tire pressure when I'm at the base of my car? Yeah. It was just confusing. It's always an overwhelming situation for me. So anything car related, very manly in my opinion. I just thought gardening was kind of more of a feminine thing. You need to hypothetically pick something up from the store. Where are you going? Walmart or Target?

SPEAKER_01

Target. But I sometimes go to Walmart just for fun. To laugh at the people mostly.

SPEAKER_00

Uh the Walmarts around here aren't even funny. Back where I lived in the Bay Area, the Walmarts were a little bit scary, but definitely funny. You were gonna get a good laugh. Walmarts around here are nothing.

SPEAKER_01

I think the ones in my neighborhood are hilarious.

SPEAKER_00

Why are you saying Target over Walmart?

SPEAKER_01

Target is just better organized. I know what they have. They always have what I need. For example, I get my socks there. They're always in the same place, same price, and it's just the workers are more competent, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_00

I think Target and Walmart have the same level of uh organization. As a fluent shopper, somebody who goes to both Target and Walmart all the time, the level of organization is the same for sure. I remember when all stores were getting their own app, and the app will tell you not only if a specific item is in stock at a specific store, but it'll tell you what aisle and bay. Both Target and Walmart have that.

SPEAKER_01

Why does Walmart just seem so much more in disarray and confusing than Target?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know why you have that opinion. I wouldn't have that opinion.

SPEAKER_01

It it just seems like a wreck anytime I go to a Walmart. Uh also I'm a little biased. You know, my second job as a kid was Target.

SPEAKER_00

Prehistoric Target?

SPEAKER_01

It used to be called Aim for the Best.

SPEAKER_00

That's why you're answering that way? Not because like Walmart, Walmart definitely has better prices. Uh Target is Target's expensive.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I I don't really go to Target because of the prices. I'm more comfortable there, and Walmart just kind of crazy, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_00

Compare a Walmart here, where we live, to Walmart in Utah. I remember going to a Walmart in Utah when I was around 15 years old, and I was blown away. It was ultra nice, ultra clean.

SPEAKER_01

It's probably the people. Utah is not really America.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know who Gypsy Rose Blanchard is?

SPEAKER_01

Uh a pop singer?

SPEAKER_00

Not quite. Gypsy Rose Blanchard became internationally known after the 2015 killing of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Gypsy conspired with her online boyfriend, Nicholas Godejon, to murder Mother Dee Dee after years of severe abuse and medical manipulation. Familiar with the term Munchhausen's where somebody is convinced that they have a disease or ailment?

SPEAKER_01

I didn't know that's what that meant. I've heard the term though.

SPEAKER_00

There's also Munchhausen's by proxy, where a certain person will claim somebody else has an ailment or illness or something. In this situation, Gypsy was subject to Munchhausen's byproxy because her mother claimed that she was very, very ill. Claimed that she had cancer, claimed that something was wrong with her like salvatory glands, had teeth removed. She was subject to surgeries and a lot of kind of medical abuse. Being wheelchair bound. She claimed that her legs didn't work and she couldn't walk right. These were all lies. She manipulated really manipulated doctors and uh claimed that they were a victim of Hurricane Katrina. That's why she lost the medical documents that confirmed Gypsy had cancer, claimed to be allergic to sugar, which doctors picked up on. No one's allergic to sugar.

SPEAKER_01

All made up.

SPEAKER_00

All made up. She also had a feeding tube. She didn't let her eat regularly, had a lot of medical abuse. She made up that her daughter was sick. The case shocked the public because investigators discovered Dee Gee had allegedly forced Gypsy to pretend she was seriously ill for much of her childhood, subjecting her to unnecessary medications, surgeries, using a wheelchair, feeding tubes, and some experts might say that that was Munchhausen's syndrome by proxy. Gypsy pleaded guilty to second degree murder in 2016 and received a 10-year sentence, while her boyfriend Godajan, who actually did the murdering, received life in prison. Since being released on parole in December of 2023, so she did not serve 10 years.

SPEAKER_01

Of course not.

SPEAKER_00

Blanchard has remained heavily in the public eye through interviews, social media, memoirs, the TV station Lifetime gave her her own show.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Which actually just last week or the week before it was announced that it was canceled. It only got two seasons, it's been canceled. She got married while she was still in jail to a man named Ryan. Later divorced him, got back with an ex named Ken, and she's since had um a daughter with him.

SPEAKER_01

A lot of men.

SPEAKER_00

A lot of men. She's she's been getting around, even while she was in jail.

SPEAKER_01

And go to John, he's actually serving his time.

SPEAKER_00

His family is pissed that he got life because they feel like she put him up to this.

SPEAKER_01

Is that the public's opinion?

SPEAKER_00

You have to watch the uh documentary.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Public opinion about Gypsy remains deeply divided. Some view her primarily as a survivor of extreme abuse because what her mother was putting her through was very sad. No doubting that she did go through some form of abuse. Yeah. But others focus on her role in planning the murder and criticize her type of celebrity status that she's been given since her release. You know, people are kind of obsessed with the case.

SPEAKER_01

I was just offended when you told me that it sounds like she's being rewarded for her bad behavior.

SPEAKER_00

She's kind of enjoying the celebrity status, if you will. I think somebody who really regretted what they did would act a little bit more remorseful, a little with a little bit more shame.

SPEAKER_01

And shouldn't make a bunch of money off it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I don't know if her show was doing really well, because like I said, they cancelled it, only got two seasons. Regardless, now that I've given you a quick synopsis of Gypsy, and the details are juicy. You should really should watch the series on Hulu.

SPEAKER_01

Got it.

SPEAKER_00

With that being said, do you think Gypsy Rose Blanchard has ruined the name Gypsy for the next 10 years or so?

SPEAKER_01

Is that the question?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you said she's she's like a celebrity now.

SPEAKER_00

So the typical person knows her. I know you wouldn't because you live under a rock. Yeah. But pretty much everybody knows Gypsy Rose.

SPEAKER_01

I think by her her newfound fame, maybe she's glorified the name Gypsy. You're you're assuming it's ruined.

SPEAKER_00

You're right. I was assuming that. In my opinion, I'm not naming my child Gypsy, although I don't think I ever would have. It's not an appealing name to me.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. Neither would I.

SPEAKER_00

But when I hear the name Gypsy now, I Gypsy Rose is kind of the first one I think of. Not because I'm obsessed with her or anything, I'm not following her on social media. They don't care at that level. I don't think she should be receiving all of this notoriety. Just kind of a funny situation.

SPEAKER_01

Celebrities have a clear influence on baby names, though. For example, have you noticed um there's a certain generation of women, they're all the same age if they're named Britney, Ashley, or Jessica?

SPEAKER_00

No, I disagree. There's women in their 40s named Jessica, there's women in the 30s named Jessica, there's women in high school named Jessica. Jessica's just one of those that's gonna keep going.

SPEAKER_01

It's it seems like every 40-year-old lady I meet is one of those names.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That's funny.

SPEAKER_01

Gypsy. Wow. Who actually did the murdering without watching the show? She wasn't there?

SPEAKER_00

That detail I'm not gonna give you. Like I said, the details are really juicy.

SPEAKER_01

Well, obviously the court decided to give her time for it, so she she had a pretty You don't care about the juicy details?

SPEAKER_00

Are you not gonna do that?

SPEAKER_01

No, I do. I do care about the details, but but in the end, if judges Tend to know all the facts and all the laws, and they tend to make good decisions. Better than the public, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_00

All I have to say about Gypsy Rose is I am a big believer. I would even say my life motto is don't let that happen to you. Or if you're complaining about something, obviously I'm going to assess. It doesn't apply everywhere. But if you're really complaining, I have to check with myself first and say, did you let that happen? What did you do that allowed that to happen? Or was there an opportunity for you to realize what was taking place and stop it beforehand? Or were you encouraging it or going along with it until it was too far gone? Gypsy, to a degree, let that happen to her. I totally understand controlling parents, but there has to be a point where you realize I have to do the hard thing and be strong and I have to break away from this. If she was forming online relationships with somebody close enough to be considered boyfriend, you could also form a friendship or relationship with somebody or that person, the boyfriend, could assist you with leaving that situation. I don't know why the murder needed to take place. You could have just left your mother, you know? Anyway, it's not like we can have a long conversation about it because you don't know all the details. But in my opinion, I truly think that she played a part in letting that happen to her.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Not when she was a young child, obviously. When she was a young child, she had much less control. But this abuse took place until she was a young adult. She needed to have stopped it. And not with killing her mom, if that didn't go without saying.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Killing is never okay. Just leave the woman, give her the block, and never talk to her again.

SPEAKER_01

What did they say? Violence is never the answer.

SPEAKER_00

That's right.

SPEAKER_01

Go to John. What a name, though.

SPEAKER_00

Back when you were driving for celebrities, who was the nicest celebrity you drove for and who was the rudest or most disrespectful?

SPEAKER_01

Good question. Hands down, Jamie Foxx, my favorite. Jamie Foxx for sure. Nicest passenger. He gave me my biggest tip on record. But that's not all why he was my favorite. He's just a good guy. Very friendly, down to earth. Uh made me feel uh valuable and important to the situation. Uh gave me a lot of credit and uh yeah, in the end, tipped me, my biggest tip ever, giving me verbal credit for uh he he called me a trooper.

SPEAKER_00

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

So I I I thought that was cool.

SPEAKER_00

Was his ride anything particularly difficult?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it was a one-night ride that turned into 72 hours straight without break. I slept in the car, I slept at his house. I was with him for three days straight.

SPEAKER_00

When you say you slept at his house, he offered you a guest room?

SPEAKER_01

He offered me a sofa in like a library room. Oh it was pretty cool.

SPEAKER_00

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

His house was kick ass. Nice. This was no ordinary couch in the library. I felt honored.

SPEAKER_00

Did you have a runner-up?

SPEAKER_01

Ron Howard, who's a bit old and dated. I literally don't know who that is. Yeah, he was an actor since childhood in the 50s. Did you ever see that show called Um Happy Days? He was started in Happy Days. He's a producer now.

SPEAKER_00

And why was he great or notable?

SPEAKER_01

Surprisingly friendly, just a nice guy. We grew up in the same neighborhood, too. I think that's why he kind of took friendly with me.

SPEAKER_00

And let's give your bad experience. Who was the worst person that you drove for?

SPEAKER_01

It was not a celebrity, just a no-name guy, just rubbed me wrong, bad attitude, repeatedly kept calling me driver after I told him, you know, I'm you can call me Mike or chauffeur if you have to, but like I'm not a driver. And that's not like I have ego or anything. I felt like he was purposely like just sticking, prodding me with the word driver because he knew it bothered me.

SPEAKER_00

Rode, you were driving him for CBS or something?

SPEAKER_01

A well-to-do lawyer in Hollywood.

SPEAKER_00

Do you have a second experience or like a bad celebrity interaction?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Actually, celebrity, but not my passenger, uh, just approached me from outside while I was driving for someone else, Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt gave me uh gave me some attitude. I I kind of irritated him though on purpose, so I I pretty much deserved it. I was sitting outside the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, waiting on another client. Brad Pitt approached me, who's not technically my passenger, but he gave me attitude. I provoked him and and he didn't like it. Basically, I was sitting in the car and uh he noticed me, approached me, asked who I was waiting for or who I was there for. And I knew who he was, but I just told him the standard, you know, that's privileged information. I'm not telling you, that's privileged information. I can't say. And and he did the, oh come on, you know, don't you know who I am? Kind of he didn't say it that way, but that was his tone, and I purposely pretended not to recognize him.

SPEAKER_00

He's getting all frustrated.

SPEAKER_01

Who you yeah, it just you can tell me. I said, you know, you look a lot like Brad Pitt. People ever tell you that. And yeah, that I could tell that bugged him. And he he's like, I am Brad Pitt, you ask. And then walked away.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, that's all we had for today. I have to make some peach jam. It's gonna be my first time attempting to make it. I just bought this device yesterday that's for canning. I didn't know that to do cans you needed a whole little device, but I had to take a trip over to Walmart and buy a hot water canning bath thing. So I'm gonna try to make peach jam for the first time. Peach tree in the back totally was popping off. Got a lot of peaches this year. It's only the second time or second year or second season that it's produced, so I'm really proud of it. And then right next door to the peach, who is starting to stop production, is the apricot tree. And the apricots that are coming in are already really big.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. I'd be curious to sample your practice.

SPEAKER_00

Sure. What are you doing for the rest of your day?

SPEAKER_01

Errons. Pumping gas.

SPEAKER_00

That's it.

SPEAKER_01

Target.

SPEAKER_00

What do you need to get there?

SPEAKER_01

New socks.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, cool. All right. Well, thank you all for watching and hope you have a great rest of your week or day. We'll see you next time.

SPEAKER_01

Bye.

SPEAKER_00

Bye.
